A White Shirt-dress - Butterick 5556 {Accomplist} (SSW1)

I finished another 2016 Make Nine projects AND another piece for my Seasonal Sew Wardrobe (SSW1) collection!!

No, this wasn't in my initial plan for the SSW but I decided to sew it rather than the white t-shirt.

Since our family planned to wear Red, White and Blue to Captain America: Civil War to show that we were on #teamCap! I decided I needed to get it done in time or else I would be the only one not coordinating.
Kimberly wore her vintage 1960's red dress, TaMera wore a vintage 1970's blue dress and I wore my handmade 1950's reproduction, hot off the press (at 11:30 the night before) white dress!

Welcome to the Seasonal Sew Wardrobe: Sleepwear Edition!

Good Morning!! Hope you are all having a lovely start to your day!
I am soooooooooooo excited to be your host for this Seasonal Sew Wardrobe all about sleepwear!

We decided to do a whole sew-along all about sleeping because I think a lot of us forget about sewing for sleeping; (at least I do!)

IT'S GOING TO BE SOOOO RELAXING!!!
Just think about all the soft fabrics and not really having to worry about fit - (possibly my favorite part.) Seriously though, this is going to be a relaxed sew along!

We are going to be sewing six (6) sleeping related items from June 1st to August 31st.

This sew along is great no matter which side of the hemisphere you sew from;
you can sew light and airy pajamas or warm and cozy ones!

Yellow Pants Baby!!!!! {Simplicity 1371} [Seasonal Sew Wardrobe]

I am so excited to share my yellow pants! Yes, actual yellow pants!

Wearing: Orange Shirt: handmade / Green Shirt: handmade / Pants: handmade / Cardigan: Target (few seasons ago) / Shoes: secondhand

So yellow pants have been in the my Seasonal Sew Wardrobe since the beginning...but it is a different fabric then before.
Originally, I was going to use a yellow upholstery fabric from the stash but it was scratchy, it was sheer-ish and it was just terrible!
I decided to purchase real pants fabric instead. My closing, (sob) Hancock had the perfect fabric! (I also needed to use up my gift cards lol)

Gluten Free Lasagna (Grain Free Option!)

Everyone has their favorite lasagna recipe and their little tricks or secrets to make it "just right". Today I'm sharing mine with you!

Something you have to understand; when I cook, I tend to just throw ingredients together and hope it tastes good. But lately I've been making an effort to make notes and write down what I do so I can share it with you - (once the kinks have been worked out of course.)

That being said, this lasagna recipe is very customizable! Use gluten free lasagna noodles, use wheat lasagna noodle, use cooked spaghetti squash in place of the noodles! It's your choice! (Side note; if you're going for a lower calorie/carb option definitely go with the spaghetti squash. 20 calories per 1 cup and low in carb count too!)

Tiffany's 1960's Robe for Christmas! {Vintage Simplicity 1074}

Yes you read the title right.
I made this robe for Tiffany for Christmas. I sewed the robe in November, gave it her on Christmas, took these pictures in January and finally am sharing it today! Better late than never...right?? lol
Over New Years, I shared with her my idea for the photoshoot. A retro inspired shoot and I really, really wanted her hair to be up in rollers! She rocked it!

A Different Colored Bobbin [Sewing Tip]

Some fabrics wrong side look identical to the right side. ...and I used to hate using any fabric like that until I figured something out that changed the way I sew with them forever!

70s Quilt - Thrift Store Score

I'm excited to share this quilt with you! It's 74 x 72 just two inches shy of being a complete square!

Much to Kimberly's dismay...I snatched it up for $10! (She is usually the one who finds amazing deals on quilts...Not today sis...not today!)

I love the prints and the fact that it was handmade! There is even hand stitches running diagonally through the quilt. I just can't get over how much I love this quilt!!

I hope this is the beginning of more Thrift Store Scores popping up regularly.
We have still been thrifting (of course) but have ceased sharing weekly.
We probably won't get back to the weekly schedule...maybe bi-monthly? I don't know.
