From Rusty to Rad Red [A Chair Update]

Our aunt is planning on moving and let us raid her backyard of stuff, on it's way to the dumpster...let me tell you we didn't come home empty handed. One of the "treasures" was this chair that Kimberly made into a beautiful statement piece! It really pops, definitely an eye grabber when you come into the driveway.

A chair from our aunt + wire brushing + red spray paint = STATEMENT!

Perspevctives

This past semester Kimberly and I have been taking a course called "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" and it's been super fun! Tuesday was the last night and we celebrated with a night of bring your family and a cutural dish! We brought a dish from Nicaragua (where Edwin our brother-in-law is from) and dressed up...cause that what we do! :)
Now on to what we are wearing...
TaMera's dress is from Mexico that we brought at a thrift store and her bag is from Nicaragua.
Kimberly's is Samantha's that she got in Ecuador.
Mom is wearing a dress that Edwin gave her for Christmas a few years back.
And I'm wearing a dress from Mexico that we found at a thrift store. It's now one of my favorites, so easy to wear, comfortable and cute!

Have you dressed up for anything special?

Tomorrow May Bring Blueberries

Okay, not tomorrow but in the coming months! I planted a blueberry shrub on Saturday...it's more of a plant right now though. :)
We are planting two new things this year, one obviously being blueberries and the other strawberries. I'm excited and a little nervous...
We'll see how they turn out!

Update 9/8/2014: My blueberry plant died. :( But the strawberries are doing fine!

Bridesmaid Dress Refashion

TaMera found this orange bridesmaid dress at a second hand shop in Alabama. She fell in love with it, orange is her favorite color! Just a little change...

A timeless dress, easy to dress up or down by changing the shirt underneath! The change was simply making it into tea length dress. Kimberly did the cutting and I did the minimal hemming that had to be done.

Smiles,
