70s Quilt - Thrift Store Score

I'm excited to share this quilt with you! It's 74 x 72 just two inches shy of being a complete square!

Much to Kimberly's dismay...I snatched it up for $10! (She is usually the one who finds amazing deals on quilts...Not today sis...not today!)

I love the prints and the fact that it was handmade! There is even hand stitches running diagonally through the quilt. I just can't get over how much I love this quilt!!

I hope this is the beginning of more Thrift Store Scores popping up regularly.
We have still been thrifting (of course) but have ceased sharing weekly.
We probably won't get back to the weekly schedule...maybe bi-monthly? I don't know.

99¢ Simplicity Patterns? Oh, My!

Because, I went out and bought the patterns I wanted. I feel like I can tell you that Hobby Lobby has Simplicity patterns on sale for 99¢ this week! :)

I picked up the following patterns:
Three dress patterns. Two of them are vintage "Jiffy" reprints.
A vintage "Jiffy" shirt reprint. (Jiffy patterns have two or three main pattern pieces)
A vintage 11 1/2" doll (Barbie) reprint.
And a steampunk jacket costume pattern. I have a really cool idea for this! You'll have to wait and see what it might become!

Hurry in and check out the sale!

Pfaltzgraff Dishware

Usually when you are at a thrift store/antique mall or anywhere that has merchandise that is constantly changing you can't have much patience. It's a "do I want this, buy this" market. Which is why surprisingly I was able to watch  this set of dishware (117 pieces) go from $120 to $60 then to $30! Thirty dollars felt like a decent price a 16 year old (who most likely  won't have her own house for a while) could spend on dishes. $120 made each dish just a little over a dollar, but I came out with them for 24 cents each! Just may be my best deal to date!

The dishes are "Pfaltgraff" their popular 1970s "Village Design"

I also found eight more cups and sauces at a thrift store for $6! Cups are what I break the most. :)

Reading Railroad

We were in Kearney this past couple of days.  Before we left for home, we stopped at a Thrift Store. It was called U Can Offer, with all proceeds going to provide cancer patients anything from transportation to snow removal. I really wanted to make an effort to at least check it out. And I found something...a set of vintage train bookends!

I LOVE 'EM! At the moment they are sitting on top of the bookshelf in the living room. I haven't decided if they are going to stay there a while or be packed away. Most likely the first. ;)
