A Brother-In-Law "Approved" Skirt {Simplicity 1202}

I'm sure you are wondering what in the world the title means. That's totally okay because, I admit, it's weird.

Here's the deal, my brother-in-law Edwin liked my skirt "better than some of the other things you've sewn." Reason being, he doesn't go for prints as much as I do. (He is in his 30s lol)

"A Brother-In-Law Approved Skirt" is still better than my initial title: "Who's The Star of this Shoot Anyways?"
Which had to do with the cows who are in the background of some of the pictures. That title just didn't stick.

Where to go after after an introduction like that?? haha

This skirt pattern is Simplicity 1202. The fabric I found thrifting, and the zipper, thread, and interfacing are (were?) all from the stash!

This was the first time I sewed this skirt pattern and it will not be the last! It is so comfortable and low maintenance! You don't have to worry about it flying up with the wind but there is still enough flare not to be tight that you have to worry about it being tight and bunchy.
Another plus is it can be work acceptable or dressed more causal with what shirt you choose to wear with it! :)

Shhh! Don't tell anyone but I made a change...
My interfacing wasn't heavy-duty enough for the fabric so I top stitched the facing down to ensure the facing wouldn't show. Not a cool change but one you might like having a note of anyway! ;)

While we were taking these photos TaMera informed me that I need to do more "fun" poses. She "really likes it" when I do crazier poses. Well, there's my homework for my next sewing project...More fun poses! :)

Happy Friday! Try something new this weekend!
