DIY Stencil Free Painted Shorts

These are the shorts that we bleached; (here's the tutorial!)

Now on to the painting!
  • Pair of shorts/jeans
  • Transparent 1/2 inch tape, packing tape
  • Fabric Paint
  • Foam Brush

Put a piece of cardboard inside the shorts so the paint doesn't soak thru to the front.

Outline the pocket completely with the [thick] packing tape.

Using the 1/2 inch tape, create your design. (We made diagonal lines)

Paint the pocket, making sure the tape doesnt come up and you get the paint distributed evenly.

Let dry! *Check paint for drying time*

Carefully remove the tape. If you applied the 1/2 inch tape after the packing tape, remove it first.

And done!
(You can see in the lower left hand corner of the pocket, the tape came up slightly and the design became a little jagged.)

Mission accomplished; our 11 year-old sis approved!
