Mondays Are Sometimes Marvelous!!

 

I went to the eye doctor for my yearly check up this morning. It's a nice feeling getting told that you have almost perfect eyes! (Dad and Mom are happy too :) )

Great way to start off my Monday...and week!  Did you have anything exciting happen to you today?

Baby Shower Gift All Wrapped Up!

Just wanted to show you guys the wrapping for the our cousin in law's baby shower today. It was totally recycled! From different packages that came in the mail.

 

Not having enough of either the brown or cream for the smallest book, I wrapped the book together in both. Which was great because it made a pocket for the card that Kimberly made! Worked out quite nicely!

Office Chair Refashion

 

While we were visiting Samantha & Edwin a while back we had the opportunity re-upholster the office chair, it looks so much better!

 

Think about what the poor chair is thinking: "They paid $5 for me at a garage sale four years ago. I have lived through 2 moves with this owner...please, I just need a little boost!" ;)

 

 We didn't have any adhesive spray...so we had to used carpet tape!

Which worked pretty well, the reason we weren't able to go and get any is this was the last day we were going to be there and had to hurry a little. :(

A Frosted Morning

 

This morning I was up (earlier than I wanted to be on a Saturday) walking around a little outside and saw some beautiful frost! I was able to catch some pictures before it melted to much away...

 

I love how you can see the droplets of water on the grass in this one and yet the frost too. :)

An Unexpected Masked Visitor

 

Sunday evening Mom, Dad and I were out on a walk, on the way back home we noticed something crossing the road farther down. I tried to keep an eye on it to see what it was but lost sight of it in some longer grass.  Running down the fence line that's where I spotted it again!

A Raccoon! Dad came over a little while after and I asked him to keep an eye on it, so I could run to the house and grab my camera...

 

The result? Closest I have ever been to a raccoon, closest I ever want to be to a raccoon and some pretty cool shots!

 

Something must have been wrong with it's hind legs, because the raccoon only walked with it's front legs and stopped and rested a lot. This is probably the reason we were able to follow it.

 

 After this shot I climbed into the cow lot and tried to get some other ones. But I lost him after a little hill, I decided to go back to the house and look at the photos I had gotten so far. That's when the cats started making a lot of noise on the fence so I thought I would get a few of them...What's the difference right?

 

 When I went to up get another angle of A.J. through the branches I saw the raccoon! That is the moment I took (in my opinion) the best shot of the night!

Love is in the Air...

 

This weekend we sang in Missouri and the whole family came, including Tiffany's boyfriend Jeff. Before we left on Saturday, Jeff (when Tiffany wasn't around) asked if I had my camera, and to keep it near me at all times this weekend. I must have had a puzzled look on my face because then he mentioned that the engagement ring had come in. He was going to ask Tiffany sometime that weekend!
(That was probably the hardest thing I have ever done in my life trying to keep that secret! SO glad he didn't wait too long or I might have burst!)

Saturday evening we checked into our hotel, Mom forgot something in the van. Tiffany & Jeff were going to get it, as well as some pop from the hotel pantry. Jeff quickly told me to get my camera ready. "Oh" I thought "That's going to be romantic!" I envisioned in my mind this nice scene of him on his knee and Tiffany standing there and the "Candlewood Suites" sign in the background. But that's not the way it went down...

I went outside the side door but they were already going into the front door. I put on my best sleuthing mode...by the time I got in to the hotel I thought I had lost them. But there they were right in front of me in the "pantry". I quickly dashed into a hallway and waited. When they started towards the stairs I thought I would make a dash for the elevator...that's where everything went "wrong".

Jeff and Tiff turned around just past the elevator and I was spotted. Tiffany said "Hey Jewel, what are you doing?" *quick think of something* "ummm I was trying to catch you outside because I left my brown bag in the van. Can I have the keys?" It wasn't a lie because I was trying to catch them outside and I did leave my brown bag in the van. Tiffany and I then walked towards each other and she hands me the keys.

While her back was turned, Jeff got down on one knee (that surprised me!) so my face goes into this super smile (I can't hide emotions!)
Tiffany says "Jewel what are you really doing?" *notices the camera*
"Were you taking pictures us or what?"
Me: "No. I'm going to take a picture of you now."
Tiffany says "Oookay?"

After what seemed like an eternity she FINALLY turned around. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Can't wait for the wedding!
